Company History

Established by Gary and Todd Wolter in 1987, the Wolter Group has earned a reputation as the premier custom home builder on Sanibel and Captiva Islands, located off the coast of southwest Florida. Since then, the company has built more than 250 custom homes, ranging in size from 1,700 sq. ft. to more than 10,000 sq. ft., and it has completed more than 75 home remodeling projects.

In 1989, Todd Zamniak joined the Wolter Group and was instrumental in helping grow the company to what it is today. Todd Zamniak became a third partner soon after joining the business, and Gary, Todd and Todd collectively ran the company until 2000, the point at which Gary departed the Wolter Group to begin his retirement after more than 40 accomplished years in the building business in both southwest Florida and Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Under the stewardship of Todd and Todd, the Wolter Group continues to gain loyal customers by providing consistently superior customer service, quality craftsmanship and reliability. In fact, many of the company's clients are located out of state during the building process but have been able to put their trust in the Wolter Group to create their dream home as promised and on budget.

Comprised of a dynamic team of experienced people, the Wolter Group focuses on a small number of luxury homes so that the team can be heavily involved in all phases of its projects. Todd Wolter is readily available to walk a customer's lot with them to address any concerns and assist in determining the best design to maximize both views and use of the property. At the design stage, a selection of the company's custom homes is almost always accessible for viewing. And revisions are always welcome and encouraged throughout the building process.

Executive Bio

Todd Wolter

Todd has been involved in the building industry for his entire career, starting as a carpenter for his father’s company Wolter Bros. Builders in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Moving to southwest Florida in 1984, Todd worked as superintendant and estimator at Neiman, Wolter Homes until leaving and founding the Wolter Group in 1987 with his father. Todd’s focus at the company is sales, design, permitting and operations management.

Todd’s hobbies include tennis, basketball and fitness training.

Todd Zamniak

As Vice President, Todd Zamniak oversees all construction projects from start to finish. He also produces and tracks project scheduling, manages customer service and oversees client requests for changes.

With a degree in engineering, Todd owned a construction company in New York state before moving to southwest Florida. He also was a kitchen and bath designer before joining the Wolter Group. In his spare time, Todd enjoys golfing, boating with his wife Lori, and coaching sports for his two young sons, Trent and Trevor.

C Scott Zamniak

Scott works closely with clients, architects and Todd Wolter to create specifications and budgets for all projects. He also tracks and approves all account payables and receivables; creates and tracks all change order related items with Todd Zamniak; and works closely with all subcontractors and suppliers on cost engineering for projects.

Originally from Auburn, New York, Scott moved to southwest Florida in 1988. His interests include golf and spending time with his two children, Zach and Skylar.
